I WON A REBORN CONTEST!! and i never expected i would.

a former member, and since returned to one of my groups had invted me to her page on facebook.

im not gonna lie, we have had an issue in the past and i really questioned the reason for the invite, but because i believe in the goodness of ppl, and want them to see the goodness in me, i accepted the invite.

when i did, i was told there was a contest going on for the new year and the prizes were going to be some newboen sized baby braclettes and a newborn sized necklace.

one of the rules was to write a resolution in 4 words of less, so i put something like:
"get back into reborning" or something similar, along that line of thinking.
because i really do want to get back into it. its been 2 years an its time.

so, i left it at that, never thought id ever win...had forgotten about it to be honest.

next thing i know a couple of days latter the owner contacts me in private to tell me im the winner!!!

i was shocked! litterally speechless! floored!! dumbfound!

i couldnt believe it, but it was the truth.

she got my info, and sent me the tracking numbeer the next ay, and i didnt believe in a million years within 24 hours from her upnorth to me here in the southern midwest area of the same country, id have that package!

so, when i heard the mailman run by the house, i went out to check the mail, as its holiday time and i wanted to make sure no one took anything that may be of value in my mailbox (not that ive heard anyone having it happenon my street, i was just being cautious) i opened the mail box up to find a box. and it was from the owner of that group! and it was the ONLY mail IN the box!

so, i rushed inside, grabbed my ipad mini, and took pics of everything from the package itself, to the packaging, to yhr tiniest details on the items.

and these things are stunning! absolutely beautiful!
i wish my camera would have better quality, as good as it is, it still cant capture the essence of these items, in all seriousness!

so, i took some pics, promised id share them on my facebook, in the group, and in this blog.

i have a NOOR kit i just got, as part of my Christmas gifts. and i was planning on trying some new air dry paints out on him. and planned on making him a boy, he just looks like a boy. and the one bracelet that has the boy charm on it, id put on him.

if i ever make reborns again, ill use these on my dolls for display in photo shoots. i think it would add a very sweet appeal to the pics.

i love these things! i think they are so pretty, and dainty, and would look great on a reborn doll.
they are NOT intended for any REAL infant, as they do have small parts that can be pulled off and choke a baby, so be mindful of that if you think youd want to have anything for a real inafnt, id just go with the plain bracelets which, are equally as stunning without the baubles on them. any baby would look great in these just plain.  :)

ORDERED SOME CLOTHES FROM AN ONINE FACEBOOK CONNECTION

because shes still a minor, im not going to reference her name just her Intials.

ive been dealing with M for a little while, we connected on facebook, and shed ask if anyone wanted some of the baby clothes she has to sell, and she always seems to have a ton..

she likes the monkey stuff, like i do, but i was struck the 1st time by an outfit she had for sale that my son used to wear when he was a new baby..
and at the same time, or very near that time, she had some shoes he also used to wear.

i was so struck i had to go and purchase a near lookalike kit to him as an infant (still working on) to have in my collection of personal custom reborns.

to date, it is STILL the closest kit to his face as a newborn in that picture that i can find. several others have come close, but this one is by far his match.

anyway...
i digress...

we have done a few transactions, most of my clothes for my dolls have come from M, ove rthe past year or so.

and so it is, she was selling some more, and there was several moneky ones in the lot.

i asked how much she was willing to sell everything for? and she asked me to make a call. come up with a number, make an offer.

so, i counted the items. 71 (if im right, could be more)
and offered her 75.00
shes including shipping. cant beat that!

so, craig said wed do the transaction tomorrow night, and then M will have to make sure this is all boxed up and shipped out.

cant wait..

why am i so anxious? i have the opportunity to have a small weekend business going at a flea market right up the street from me. and i noticed there wass very little in the way of baby clothes at this place, and i know that baby clothes, and items are a HUGE seller! cant find that stuff at a yard sale if your there late..why? cause ppl buy it up! 

so, this will go towards my inventory for that business.

ps- need a good name for this little business of mine. something about babies/infants/ etc, and be catchy as well. ill need to make business cards for that so i can send one off with every customer.

paid 75.00 for them, sent notice to M about the money having been sent via paypal. and she thanked me,.

then she posts shes gonna get rid of allot of her baby stuff...
uuuugh!
told her to let me know what she had available, id prolly buy it...she has to go through it all and see hat shes gonna keep and what shes gonna let go, told her id do a huge order, like this one, and she asked if i wanted her to keep everything until the next load, so shipping wouldnt be so much, i told her, no..ill deal with that when that time comes, and told her dates of payments (5th/20th) so shed know when to ask if i was interested in her stuff.

i also run another page on FACEBOOK: Reborn Doll Kits Online (has more ppl on it than my fan page for my own work does, lol)

its up above any of the posts.

its a simple page, just shows available kits online via various sites that are (or were) available at the time of my making all of those albums on it (800, and counting).

i get asked allot on that page "how much for this/that kit?"

i DONT sell them.
i dont even say i did the artwork of any of the final images of kits that have been reborn.
and if i can and it is available i show the name of the nursery and/or the artist who had done the work.

i simply house them all there, as a placement right now until i can get my webapge up and running where ill have those same albums all organized.

but for now, i have 800 kits on there for viewing.

Facebook game aims to save gorillas, tigers and more through play

If Zynga's past donations to Haiti, Japan and other ailing nations have taught us anything, it's the enormous capacity for Facebook games to help others in need. But Good World Games has decided to extend that good will towards others in social gaming to animals, namely gorillas.

Its newest game is called My Conservation Park, and the developer has joined in partnerships with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, WildAid and three more organizations to donate 15 percent of the profits from all in-game purchases to helping those organizations save a wide variety of endangered wildlife.

Players connect to the game through Facebook, and must preserve and protect a series of parks for five different animal species: gorillas, tigers, whales, monkeys and sharks. Each park has its own native animals that players must care for in both its Protect and Erich modes.

In Protection Mode, players have to track down poachers and click them to rid the park of them. Once the nasty poachers are gone, you must clean up and preserve your parks by decorating them with items found in the shop in Enrich mode.

The game doesn't play much differently from standard social games other than the ability to turn the action on and off through Enrich mode and Protect modes. There are also a few mini games to play like Wildlife Tagging, which tasks you with tagging the animals you save, but not twice or you'll lose points. As you progress and successfully protect and preserve more animal habitats, you'll gain access to new parks, items and animals to save.

However, it's up to you to make donations through the game's primary currency, simply known as Gold. But we bet after one look at those adorable cartoon animals--or the extra information (and video courtesy of Sigourney Weaver) Good World Games provides--you'll start reaching for the old wallet. The only thing this game needs is a cameo from Alanis Morissette.
