PURCHASED THE TORY KIT AND EVERYTHING TO MAKE A CUSTOM REBORN OF DANIEL

yup, im guessing those gorilla blank kits wont be coming out before my birthday, and times running out (if we consider shipping for all of this) for my birthday.

so, i asked hubby if that "ok" meant i could get the entire thing, as i had figured it all out WITH shipping.
and he said "yes"...so, i did it.

i got everything i think id need to make my 1st custom of Daniel.
and hed be a highlighted doll on my webpage. and of course, id keep him hes NOT FOR SALE! lol

so i got the tory kit:

Polly fill (to stuff the body)

Panty Hose (to hold those tiny glass beads, which are used to weight the baby)

Neck ring, used to have turnability of the head once on the cloth body

 what most people dont know about my son, and it still stands true todate, is right at his forhead hairline he has some blond hair ther, its slightly visible in the picture i provided, but most wont see it because they would just blend the color into the rest of his hair color.
but i know he has it, when his hair is cut just short enough to see it, and if, when he was an infant, id brush his hair just the right way, youd see that blond glow there and it was almost angelic.
so i ordered some blond.
still not sure if ill paint those wispy blond hairs, and not root them, but i wanted to have that option in case i did chose to root them.

im actually really ready to dive into doing this particular kit, because i think i can do this.
there si, im sure a learning curve, but im pretty confident i can master this, and actually make some money off of this.
not sure why i couldnt get off the ground with any of the other kits i own (15 others) but i couldnt.
perhaps its like when i draw, i have to have a picture to reference from in order to make that drawing come to life. all free hand.
and with this kit, i have pics of daniel to reference, so its , somewhat, to me, like painting a painting (in 3-D) of Daniel.
so, i have no fear, just excitement for this particular kit.

once i have done him, i think i can free-flow on the others.

im also, swelling up in my mind with all the details i need for a well pull-together web page.
so, ive been hunting that all down as well.
looking at many other reborn artists web pages too see whats most common on them.
how they handle navigation on those pages.
what they look like (which i am not sure YET, how mine will look).

so much to think about when your launching your hobby out there for the world to see and rate you on!

been waiting for this moment to happen for a looooong time. i asked at the end of december, for this to be one of my christmas gifts, so i could actually be working on it at the start of the new year.

i have 800 reborn kit albums on my Reborn Kits Online FaceBook Page. and im anxious to get them loaded up, because i want to make sure i highlight artists, and reborners, and the various ways any kit can and has been reproduced.

so, i gently reminded (ok, i asked) hubby today (payday was yesterday) if it was possible for me to get this URL...
and he said...YES!

so, now, my brains all whirling around with how to make this idea an actuallity, i have plans (all in my head) for everything. i havnt put it all on paper yet.

im not even sure how the web sites gonna look...yet. ive toyed around with ideas for thet, but never really settled...
theres so much to do.
so many things i have plans for for this web page.

and i havnt even started my own baby yet...lol

i really didnt want to until i had a page up to show the progress, of each doll as i made them...pics and videos.

so, this is really my launching pad, to FINALLY get going...
feel pretty ok in knowing i have allot of my things in place to get started...

and for as bold and aggressive as i am, youd think it hard to believe i am actually scared to start...lol

ok, back to the web page (deflecting the reality setting in on me...lol)
i have to figure out background imaging, and fonts, and style...
*sigh* would be SO much easier if i was a web master and knew all this stuff already, so it wouldnt be an issue...
yeah, thats another area im considering getting into, so i can make my pages by myself...no having to bug the husband to get them done...

WEBSITE IDEA

so, i have this idea...like allot of other reborn artists do (and have, and actually utilize) to have a web page for my display of artwork in realation to reborning kits and dolls.

so, in order to do this, i have to research who all the kit makers are...and what kits have been produced, because MY timeline is right here, right now, and certainly there have been other works done BEFORE now...this becomes a challenge.

so im looking online and come across a website i cant remember the name and ive taken it off my browser (never do that until youve bookmarked it) I FOUND IT! (thank goodness Firefox has session saver!)

anyway, it had almost every reborn artist thats ever been around listed.
but one fault i noted was it wasnt a current list of kits available.
or that had even ever been offered. which was quite dissapointing.

so, my idea was this, and it, in and of itself will be quite the challenge, is soo have a section of pages, ny kit artist who have produced, produce and will produce kits for the reborn artist.

giving credit AND exposure to the kit artist.
and..
whoever has done a fantastic job at the reborning and is the image chosen, will be the artist who reborned as a display.

there will be a bio about each artist -if i can find one, or get one somewhere.
and then images of each blank kit, and what they have the potential to be as a reborned doll.
different people see different things, i like to see the differences.
it helps people who may want to custom a doll. to be able to make a better choice if they see the same doll in different views and styles.
straight hair, no hair, whifs of hair, full hair...

like that.

im still trying to decide the name of this website for reborning...

i have always been a fan of the phrase: WHIT and WHIMSEY...and im leaning towards that as a web name. (if its available).
my reasons are because im thinking im leaning, myself more on the side of Monkey reborn dolls...but ill do humans as well...so, WHIT and WHIMSEY is kinda magical, fun, light hearted. the way i feel my page should be projected.

craig says he likes the name with a "Z" and a "Y" on the end: WHIMZY

i looked online for anyone using any varient of WHIT and WHIMSEY/WIT AND WIMSIE/ WIT AND WIMZIE, and any other ways i could imagine to spell it and rearrange the letters, and no one owns it yet!
so, im gonna own it.
and its gonna be the name of MY reborn doll sight.


i have emailed several of the artists as i can find them online.
amazes me that allot of these artists who are so good at the craft of creating these kits done even have a web page to showcase the art they have produced.
so finding emails for them, is well, nearly impossible. and makes the task of highlighting them that much harder.

im still waiting on reply for those whom i have emailed.

ill pray they see this as a kind gesture no copyright infringements intended. and a way to showcase and enlighten others, like myself who have been in the art, or are stepping in for the 1st time.

i really like the idea of having a consolidated area where theres a concise listing of  kits that have been abd are available for the consumer.

so far 2 artists have replied. man! prayers work pretty fast! came in as i was writing about hoping they would write back! lol

ok, so...craigs gonna domain the name WIT and WHIMZY. when he has the cash.

so for right now the web page, as its being set up and created and thought out will be something like:

im really having a hard time deciding if i want it to stand alone on its own without my name on it, or actually have my name included...
